Reporting to the Head of AML Compliance, you will provide AML/CFT and sanctions advice and support to the Private Banking business in Singapore and the international clientele of the Singapore Branch.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
You will have the opportunity to support the below tasks, but not limited to: -
- Reviews and assesses AML/CFT and sanctions risks for establishment of new relationships with clients, EAMs or business introducers.
- Reviews existing clients’ accounts on ongoing and periodic basis or upon occurrence of a trigger event.
- Conducts, monitors, reviews or investigates clients’ account activities and files a Suspicious Transaction Report when directed by Head of AML Compliance.
- Reviews alerts generated from the clients and payment screening tools.
- Performs weekly rotational duty to provide AML/CFT, sanctions and related regulatory advice to management, the business and support units.
- Assists in drafting new AML/CFT related policies and procedures, as well as updating existing policies.
- Assists Head of AML Compliance with AML/CFT and sanctions related audits and Group projects.
- Assists Head of AML Compliance, where necessary, in coordinating with MAS, CAD and other local regulators and authorities on AML/CFT and sanctions related regulatory issues.
- Assists Head of AML Compliance in advising and providing updates to Group Compliance and management on any new or updated AML/CFT and sanctions related laws, regulations and practices.

REQUIREMENTS
To be effective and successful in this position, you should have:-
- Degree in appropriate relevant field of study or equivalent work experience;
- Minimum 2-5 years of relevant banking, account opening and due diligence experience in Private Banking/Wealth Management (PB KYC experience preferred);
- Good understanding of the local regulatory framework and practices, particularly in relation to Anti-Money Laundering/Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT), Private Banking Code of Conduct, and MAS Guidelines on Private Banking Controls, is crucial;
- be a strong team player who is strategic and yet practical, able to navigate through diverse cultures, develop and lead strategies in the face of an increasingly-regulated landscape;
- be able to trust and promote trust in team members;
- be able to advise, assist and collaborate with stakeholders from the business units to mitigate AML/CFT and sanctions risks in a practical, constructive and effective manner, within the ambit of the relevant regulations;
- have strong research, investigative and analytical skills, and attention to details so as to enable him/ her to make sound judgments and recommendations to Head of AML Compliance;
- possess mental toughness and be committed to quality work;
- have good verbal/written and interpersonal communication skills;
- have good organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
