Missions

Indosuez Wealth Management in Europe. International by nature our bank has been firmly established for more than a century in Luxembourg the leading centre for Wealth Management in the Eurozone. From its registered office in Luxembourg, it has developed a network of branches and subsidiaries outside the Grand Duchy for its European clients, complementary to the Group’s other historical locations across the continent, in France, Monaco and Switzerland.

This local network therefore includes teams:

  • In Spain, through 5 locations based in Madrid, San Sebastian, Bilbao, Valencia and Seville, which make up CA Indosuez Wealth (Europe), Spanish Branch, serving Spanish investors;
  • In Italy, through 4 locations based in Milan and Rome which make up CA Indosuez Wealth (Europe), Italy Branch, which serves Italian families and entrepreneurs;
  • In Portugal, through CA Indosuez Wealth (Europe), Sucursal em Portugal, whose team is based in Lisbon, to serve clients resident in Portugal.

Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer based in Luxembourg, the Head of Compliance main responsibilities are as follows:

  • Ensure that the branch’s activity complies with applicable laws and regulations, as well as Group internal policies and procedures, adapting CPL Governance Texts, where necessary, to the local circumstances, including to the local laws and regulations (subject to the « most onerous rule » principle);
  • Guarantee the compliance of the local Governance Texts with the Governance Texts issued by CPL at Head Office level, as well as with local regulations and request derogations where applicable;
  • Assuring the effective compliance monitoring of transactions through the processing and control of alerts relative to financial security, identification, prevention and management of conflicts of interest, confidential and/or inside information and permanent information barriers in close coordination with CPL in Luxembourg, monitoring of sensitive personnel, fight against fraud and corruption and data leakage prevention in coordination with the CPL Luxembourg expertise division;
  • Carry out a risk assessment in terms of Anti-Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism of the entity as well as develop a procedure and control framework to mitigate the encountered risks;
  • Follow up in a timely manner all the compliance linked recommendations in force, implementing action plans;
  • Promote an effective embedded compliance culture within the branch reinforcing the 1st line of defense ownership of their compliance risks;
  • Provide any useful advice and assists its employees and executive managers by giving them advice and training in the field of compliance, ensure all compliance related information and publications are distributed to the relevant staff of departments;

  • Monitor the local activities on compliance aspects through an effective control framework: validation of the Divisions/Cross-functional Functions compliance risk-mapping, designing and implementing the adequate compliance monitoring program and an annual compliance control plan, coordinating the implementation of correction of anomalies / incidents and their immediate reporting to Head Office CPL;
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects that impact the operations and organization of the bank (MiFID II, IDD, ESG, staff ethics, and others)
  • Prepare local, Head Office and Group internal reporting;
  • Manage all client’s complaints in a timely manner in line with regulation in force;
  • Carry out or make carried out necessary a priori or a posteriori controls, depending on the activity, and in particular monitors transactions conducted by the Bank for its own account or for its customers;
  • Reinforce the branch Data Protection compliance framework;
  • Implement the CA Indosuez Group’s or CA S.A. Group’s Compliance tools when applicable;
  • Escalate international sanctions events, as required by the governance of the bank to the CPL Head Office and Group Sanctions Compliance Officer;
  • Liaise with local banking regulators and market authorities and representing CA Indosuez to relevant external bodies in liaison with the General Manager of the Branch and the Chief Compliance Officer in Luxembourg.

Formation / Spécialisation

  • Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent
  • Academic qualifications: B
  • Business School or University degree in Finance and/or Law

Niveau d'expérience minimum

6 - 10 ans

Expérience

  • Solid experience in the banking sector specially coming from legal, audit or other compliance departments, ideally with international, cross-border topics related to the financial industry.
  • Experience in Wealth Management is a plus.

  • Capability to drive consensus and, where appropriate, to take a firm position even in the absence of broad-based support, excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Patience and tenacity to obtain results that can be clearly evidenced.
