Job summary

Outline of the Position:

Handle the KYC review of the new private banking clients and other issues related to the client onboarding

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle all matters fallen under new client onboarding compliance matters (including KYC/ Client Due Diligence (‘CDD’)/ Client Risk Assessment (‘CRA’) reviews) of the CA Indosuez (Switzerland) SA, Hong Kong Branch;
  • Perform account opening KYC/ CDD/ CRA  review with respect to the regulatory and internal requirements;
  • Manage and handle requests received regulators;
  • Advise front office staff on enquiries and issues arising from client onboarding;
  • Manage and validate client’s source of wealth, corroboration of wealth, name screening results, client risk assessment as the bank’s 2nd line of defence to ensure the bank’s compliance with the applicable regulatory and internal requirements;
  • Coordinate and present cases in appropriate client approval committee meetings (including Asia Relationship Initiation Committee, PEP Committee), and obtain comments/ approval from relevant stakeholders in the client account approval process;
  • Prepare meeting minutes after PEP meetings;
  • Ensure KYC/AML deliverables are met;
  • Develop, maintain, review and enhance the bank’s process, policies and procedures as well as its internal controls to ensure the bank’s client onboarding activities are in compliance with the latest regulatory and internal requirements;
  • Monitor and report the performance of the onboarding team to management regularly;
  • Manage and handle ad-hoc compliance projects;
  • Manage and handle staff enquiries on internal policies and procedures, and compliance issues; and
  • Conduct compliance training to staff on KYC Compliance/ client onboarding topics.

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

Degree in Business or related discipline

Level of minimal experience

6-10 years


At least 5 years relevant experience in KYC/CDD, preferably in private banking

Required skills

Independent, self-motivated and ability to adapt in a team environment;
Excellent time management and organization skills

Technical skills required

Ability to identify AML risks and demonstrate a solid grasp of AML/KYC policy


Strong spoken and written English communication skills;
