Outline of the Position:


Reports to the Head of Credit Structuring Asia.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Align with the Credit Risk Department (RPC) in the region to structure, vet and monitor viable credit solutions as offering to clients; including the participation in credit committees at various levels.
  • Collaboration with internal teams – prepare, structure and obtain internal approvals on products and solutions that involve utilization of credit. Coordinate with different departments of the bank (Risk, Legal, Operations, Global Wealth Structuring) to ensure that legal, regulatory, operational, tax and structural issues related to transactions are properly addressed and where relevant presented to Product Approval Committee.
  • Work in close collaboration and support the Head of Credit Structuring Asia for specific cases and projects when needed.
  • Work closely with the Real Estate specialist and other MIS Members for specific cases when needed.
  • Sales and marketing – provide credit solutions training; prepare internal and external presentations; responsible for commercial lending targets, meet clients (with Relationship Manager) and prepare documentations (together with Legal).
  • Credit solutions advisory – provide advisory services to Relationship Managers on feasibility of large and complex credit solutions.
  • Credit product enhancement – together with Private Banking Management (EMBP) and Markets & Investment Solutions (MIS) teams in Geneva, identify required adjustments to existing risk methodologies and approved credit products; prepare and present proposals for enhancement.
  • Life Insurance – in charge of the relationship and due diligence with our Hong Kong partners (Life Insurance companies & brokers) with regards to Universal Life and IPF, in charge of consolidating all legal opinion provided on different countries

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

Degree in Banking and Finance or related discipline.

Level of minimal experience

11 years and more

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years credit experience preferably in wealth management sector facing both internal RMs and external clients.
  • Aside from Lombard Facilities, the incumbent should have experience with enriched products and markets knowledge such as Insurance Premium Financing and Universal Life Insurance, Private Placement Life Insurance and Variable Universal Life Insurance Products, Securities Financing amongst others.

Required skills

A good team player equipped with excellent presentation & communication skills, ideally with computing skills.

Technical skills required

Good knowledge in compliance and regulations of the wealth management sector.

Languages

Able to communicate fluently in English. Mandarin and other languages or dialects is a plus.
