Job Summary:
Dual Roles:
(I) The Risks Analyst monitors and assesses risk management in relation to private banking activities. He or she monitors and controls private banking clients' commitments to the bank. He or she analyses credit applications and issues risk and ongoing monitoring opinions for client or prospective client counterparties.
(II) The Operational Risk Manager is responsible for establishing, maintaining and strengthening the internal control framework within the bank, ensuring compliance with internal policies and Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) requirements. The role includes actively contributing to the bank’s governance through participation in / supporting to key committees and ad hoc projects to enhance operational control risk management practices.
Key Responsibilities:
For the credit analyst role
- Be part of the credit risk team to support credit assessment;
- Examine applications submitted by Relationship Managers (RMs);
- Analyze counterparties, mechanisms and credit granting conditions in accordance with the bank's criteria;
- Draft reasoned opinions for decision-making by authorized officers.
For operational risk role
- Oversee all aspects of internal control and operational risk management activities;
- Act as a member of committees including Hong Kong New Activity & Product Committee and Hong Kong Operational Incident Committee, etc;
- Develop, implement and maintain the bank’s operational risk management framework in alignment with HKMA regulations and group standards;
- Work with relevant parties and prepare document to obtain the endorsement from the Group CRO/Management on the report for incidents and major issues to the HKMA;
- Identify, assess and monitor operational, compliance and financial risks across business and support units;
- Conduct regular control reviews, testing and risk assessments to evaluate process effectiveness;
- Oversee the remediation of control deficiencies and operational incidents within defined timelines;
- Prepare and present comprehensive control and risk management reports to senior management, governance committees and regulators;
- Liaise with internal and external auditors, compliance and Head Office’s risk management team;
- Promote a strong internal control culture and raise risk awareness throughout the organization;
- Perform and maintain the risk mapping of the HK Branch.

Candidate criteria
Minimal education level
Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent
Academic qualification / Speciality
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Computer Sciences or related field.
Level of minimal experience
3-5 years
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in internal control, operational risk, credit risk, audit or compliance within the banking or financial services industry.
Required skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, macros, business intelligent
• Strong communication and report writing abilities in English
Technical skills required
• Solid understanding of the Hong Kong Banking Ordinance, HKMA requirements, credit process and internal control frameworks
• Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment, operational risk, control design, governance best practices
Languages
Fluent in English and Chinese. French language proficiency would be a strong advantage.
