Job summary

Reporting to the Head of Investment Management Asia, you will be supporting the Investment Management team with a strong focus on discretionary portfolio management (DPM) activities across Asia.

 

The role combines portfolio support, data analytics and business improvement. You will contribute to investment reporting, data analysis and process improvement, and enhance the efficiency of the investment management business line.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Portfolio Management Support

  • Support day-to-day portfolio management activities for the DPM team, including opening/closing accounts, operational matters.
  • Execute asset allocation and investment strategies as directed by central and regional investment committees across equities, fixed income, funds, structured products, and foreign exchange for discretionary portfolios.
  • Support preparation of marketing proposals, presentation materials, and daily/weekly market commentary for internal and client communications.
  • Ensure accuracy and timely updates in portfolio performance – Prepare regular and ad-hoc investment review reports for clients
  • Strong exposure to portfolio construction, portfolio management and risk management process
  • Develop and enhance risk management & investment management tools for DPM team, to enhance local risk management framework

Reporting & Analytics

  • Extract and analyze financial data for portfolio reviews, campaign targeting and business intelligence purposes.
  • Providing business management analytics to track Investment Management activity, profitability initiatives, and support financial follow-up and business reporting.
  • Provide cross-coverage support for team members as required and implementation of key business initiatives.

Process Improvement & Tool Automation

  • Identify opportunities to improve existing workflows and reduce manual processes
  • Develop automation tools (e.g., Excel VBA, PowerPoint, Access) for the team and enhance existing tools/solutions to increase operational efficiency.
  • Create and maintain on-demand tools tailored to specific business needs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across various teams and participate in Investment Management scope business initiatives and projects as required.

Candidate criteria

Minimal education level

Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent

Academic qualification / Speciality

Bachelor’s degree or above in finance, Economics, Business, or related field and ideally with Computer/Financial Engineering or related disciplines

Level of minimal experience

3-5 years

Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience in Private Banking Investment management, product support preferred
  • Passed CACS paper 1 and paper 2, and presently RNF-Registered with MAS is preferred

Required skills

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and business intelligence tools
  • Demonstrated strong research, investigative, logical approach and quantitative & analytical skills
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to work in a lean structured team with high team player spirit and growth mindset.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, hands on and independent with a “can-do” attitude
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills. High attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.
  • Proficiency in English is required and Mandarin (both written and verbal) would be an advantage as to support business from North Asia markets and Chinese speaking clients (China, HK and Taiwan).

Technical skills required

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (mandatory)
  • VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) for automation;
  • Familiarity with data management tools like Power BI, Python, SQL preferred
  • Exposure to Data Integration & APIs like Bloomberg, Reuters and Internal banking systems is a plus
